sprinkler-start-upIn the spring, usually beginning in mid-to-late March, you can begin opening up your sprinkler systems, to start the watering season for your lawns and other vegetation.

What Is Involved?

Opening up the sprinkler system involves a number of steps that are important to ensure your system is working properly and has weathered the harsh winter intact. Harvest uses a commercial-size, 185 CFM, towable air compressor to blowout sprinkler lines and zones.  It includes the following:

  • Turning the water on
  • Pressurizing the sprinkler system
  • Closing all drains
  • Making sure all zones are checked for any possible leaks
  • Check sprinkler heads for cracks or damage due to the cold winter months
  • Ensure that the sprinkler heads are properly aligned and spraying the yard in the most efficient and optimal directions
Additionally, it is important to make sure the control panel for the timing and scheduling of the sprinklers is set correctly in order to avoid over or under watering in any of the zones for the yard.
